If you are anything like me, when you got your period you were only ever offered the pill or pain killers to deal with it

But what if I told you there is another way!

Like many women, I used to feel controlled by my hormones.

I felt exhausted, frustrated and in pain most of the month but didn't know why. I used to say things like “I hate my period”. I felt completely disconnected from my body and my cycle, but had no idea where to begin. 

Each month I would take pain killers and curl up on the couch with my heat pack. I just wanted to make my period go away. I tried talking to doctors who seemed to only have one solution, go on the pill.

I wanted a natural solution but felt lost, alone and in pain. 

Seeking answers, I turned to acupuncture. For the first time in my life, I was asked about the intricate details of my period, the colour, texture, length and symptoms , things I didn’t even realise mattered.

There on my back, with needles all over my body I realised the problem was not my period, it was my disconnection to it. 

I was welcomed to the world of menstrual health. I tracked my cycle daily for two years, uncovering its unique rhythms. Through research and self-exploration, I adjusted my lifestyle, diet, and movement to support each phase, deepening my connection to my body.

I knew myself on a whole new level and felt deeply connected to my version of a healthy body.

I realised that in order for women to connect with their cycle, we need to understand how the menstrual cycle works and how it affects our everyday life.

We need to feel empowered with knowledge and tools to regulate our hormones, in order to feel good all month long.

Our 6 Week Journey

  • Start your journey by gaining a clear understanding of the menstrual cycle, its four distinct phases, and the hormonal changes that occur throughout each phase. We explore the Inner Seasons and their connection to your cycle, and learn how to track your cycle to embrace and understand your body’s unique rhythm.

  • We explore how crucial sleep is for maintaining hormonal balance, and discuss how managing stress effectively helps balance our body’s rhythms, reduces pain, and eases PMS symptoms. Reflect on your current routines and discover ways to make simple adjustments to enhance well-being and align with our body’s natural rhythms.

  • We will dive into how nutrition supports each phase of your menstrual cycle and your hormonal changes. We discuss the best foods for each phase and why they are vital to for a healthy cycle. Learn how to nourish your body with practical tips and delicious recipe ideas.

  • We focus on supporting liver health and reducing our toxic load, exploring why a well-functioning liver is key for hormonal balance and easing PMS symptoms. Discover practical strategies to aid your liver in detoxing and processing hormones.

  • We explore exercise and movement best suited to the energy levels of each phase of the cycle. We introduce the energetic body and yoga as a powerful tool for connecting to your unique cycle.

  • We will end our journey by reflecting on our experience and sharing insights we have gained throughout the program. We will review the tools and resources provided, and discuss strategies for integration in our daily lives. 

I recommend the “Sacred Cycles Program” to any woman! The information Annie has put together in this engaging and comprehensive program will stay with me for the rest of my menstruating life. Before starting the program I saw my period as something that happened once every 28 days and that was about as much as I knew. Through the program I was able to relieve shame I had around my menstrual cycle and able to honour myself as a woman on a deep level. With the knowledge I have gained from the program I am able to navigate my life around me. I have more grace for myself just before ovulation and the few days leading up to my bleed, allowing myself to rest and move slower with ought being hard on myself. I am also able to schedule more demanding work and social activities around my ovulation phase and leave my luteal phase for more intuitive and creative endeavours. The program also educated me about the importance of diet and its connection to pms symptoms and changes in digestion throughout the month. This program is a holistic approach to menstrual education. Sacred knowledge I will now be able to take with me, every phase, of every month, for the next 20 years!
